Tegeler Vocal Leveler 500 Series Opto Compressor

Tegeler Vocal Leveler 500 Series Opto Compressor

The Tegeler Audio Manufaktur Vocal Leveler 500 is a premium optical compressor designed specifically for vocal processing within the API 500 Series format. Built to deliver smooth, musical gain control, this mono opto compressor excels at leveling vocals naturally, keeping performances present and consistent without sounding compressed. Its straightforward design focuses on what matters most during vocal tracking and mixing: musical dynamics, warmth, and ease of use.

At the heart of the Vocal Leveler 500 is a classic optical compression topology that reacts smoothly to dynamic changes, making it ideal for vocals, spoken word, and melodic lead lines. With only two primary controls—gain reduction and output—the unit encourages fast, intuitive operation while delivering professional results. A three-position switch allows users to choose between fast, auto, or slow attack and release behavior, enabling the compressor to adapt easily to different vocal styles and performance dynamics.

Designed for modern hybrid studios, the Vocal Leveler 500 integrates seamlessly into any standard API 500 Series rack. A dedicated toggle switch enables bypass or stereo linking when two units are used together, making it suitable for stereo vocal or instrument applications. With its compact footprint, rugged construction, and unmistakably musical response, the Tegeler Vocal Leveler 500 is an essential tool for engineers seeking effortless vocal control with classic analog character.
